3 short months....

In three months time this will be me. I'm packing up and moving from the awesome city of Melbourne all the way up to the top of New South Wales to the relaxed, warm and beachy town of Byron Bay.

I love Melbourne and I have a feeling it will always be home to me, but it's been 10 years here and I definitely feel ready for a change.  I can't wait to have a lot more time and space to do the things I have been dreaming about the last few years. I'm planning to learn to surf, hike, have pet chickens and a veggie garden, continue with my floristry course and make my business into my main source of income.

In the meantime I have a hell of a lot to do. I need to get rid of about half my belongings, finally get my driver's licence (the plan is for my boyfriend to drive a rented truck with all our stuff up to Byron and I'll drive our car, eeek!), save money, find somewhere to live once we get there, and most likely dozens of other things I haven't even thought of yet.

Only three months, 'till the adventure begins, hell yeah!

Daydreaming about finding a cozy new place to live. Although I'm sure the place I find will never be as beautiful as these. Image credits here
This portrait by Henriette Wyeth of Beulah Emmett, painted in 1933 takes my breath away.

The Hallway

I recently watched 'Me, You and everyone we know' again after a few years. I just adore anything Miranda July does.

afternoon tea

Scones and jam are my all-time favourite treat and are super easy to whip up for afternoon tea. I use 2 cups of self raising flour, around 60 grams of melted butter and half a cup of milk. Simply mix well, roll out with a rolling pin and cut into nice round shapes using a small glass. bake for 30 minutes (or until just slightly golden in colour) at 180 degrees, then enjoy with raspberry jam and a big mug of hot tea. Yum.

Surely enough time has past since my last cat post that I can sneak another one in?
